Blue Ridge/Secure EdgeGuard Support for Microsoft NAP
Blue Ridge Networks has partnered with Microsoft to provide enhanced endpoint security solutions. By integrating EdgeGuard with Microsoft’s NAP (Network Access Protection) technology organizations are further assured that their mission critical data is safe from unauthorized access and attacks.
Network Access Protection is a policy enforcement technology built into the Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 operating systems that allows customers to better protect network assets from unhealthy computers by enforcing compliance with network health policies. Microsoft’s Network Access Protection technology is publicly available with trial versions of Windows Vista, and available to select partners and customers with Beta 2 of the future version of Windows Server 2008.
The Blue Ridge/Secure EdgeGuard solution prevents end-users from making system changes that can expose the organization to malware attacks or worse. It has been referred to as ideal for rapid deployment of Network Access Control. The solution ensures that client security software is continuously running reducing risks of attack.
In summary, the Blue Ridge Networks/Secure EdgeGuard endpoint security solution enhances Microsoft- provided security by extending NAP capabilities outside the corporate network, delivering anytime-anywhere policy enforcement and posture assessment on fixed and mobile workstations.
Manlio Vecchiet, group product manager, security and access product marketing at Microsoft says, “Blue Ridge technology, working with Network Access Protection, will benefit customers by heightening confidence that high standards of security technology are helping to protect an organization’s endpoints in a cost-effective, rapid and flexible process."
