EdgeGuard®
Managed Security Service Enabling Trusted Access to Sensitive Information in an Untrusted World
EdgeGuard is a system of patented technologies that enable secure remote access to centralized information resources with protection from malware attacks, data leaks, and network intrusion.
EdgeGuard converts almost any laptop or desktop computer into a virtualized trusted terminal and enables secure remote access to centralized systems. Nothing that resides on the user’s computer can cross over to the protected “trusted” network and systems. Nothing from “trusted” networks and systems can cross over to the user’s computer.
EdgeGuard can also secure existing remote access products such Windows Terminal Server, Citrix or other SSL platforms without any disruption to the existing infrastructure or operational processes. Blue Ridge’s BorderGuard encryption and authentication technology coupled with patented AppGuard Enterprise endpoint protection technology completely locks down the remote access session.
Benefits of EdgeGuard:
- Prevention of data leaks, network intrusion, and malware attacks
- Significantly reduce the cost and resources associated with multiple endpoint security products
- Convenient and easy for end-users and IT Staff
- No change to existing infrastructure or operational processes
- Compatible with almost all windows based computers
- Strong encryption and authentication
- No remnants left on endpoint computers
- Highly portable
- CAC/PIV Support
- No software required on endpoint (Boot EdgeGuard)
TWO FORMS OF EDGEGUARD FOR DIFFERENT REQUIREMENTS:
Virtual EdgeGuard: A software client is installed on the end-user’s Windows PC and an EdgeGuard session is initiated by either inserting an EdgeGuard authentication token (if a second factor is desired) or by simply launching the application. The user can then interact with their local desktop, the virtual EdgeGuard desktop, and any other services to which the user is given controlled access.
The enterprise remains protected because the desktops are completely isolated from one another and no data or malicious code can cross between them. The EdgeGuard configuration is protected from alteration by malware or local admin users by Blue Ridge’s proprietary EdgeGuard security controls.
Boot EdgeGuard: An end-user initiates an EdgeGuard session by inserting a Blue Ridge USB device into virtually any PC or Laptop. The PC then boots from the USB device under a completely separate operating system and a virtual desktop is created. The native OS is not used nor is the local hard drive accessed in any way.
