Blue Ridge NetworksT Extends Remote Access Leadership with Higher Capacity, High Security VPN Appliances
Enterprises gain productivity, mobility, impenetrable security.
CHANTILLY, Va.- June 20, 2006 - Blue Ridge Networks today announced new versions of the world's most secure virtual private networking (VPN) platforms. The BorderGuard 5600 and BorderGuard 6600 have doubled their traffic-carrying capacity. Now, thousands more people can communicate from more locations with impenetrable security, increased mobility, and greater ease than ever before.
These new models also allow organizations who were leery about deploying wireless devices to lift those moratoria and know that their mobile communications are locked down to the home network and can operate without the fear of their data being intercepted.
"These BorderGuards accommodate three thousand truly simultaneous sessions because the secure tunnels that the users communicate over are bi-directional," said Tony Russo, President and CEO of Blue Ridge Networks, Inc. "Lesser VPN devices employ one-way tunnels. Can you imagine how congested New Your City would be if Holland Tunnel traffic went one direction for a while, then the other, and so on all day long."
"When it comes to securing wireless devices, we view a wireless network as just another untrusted network. Secure the entire tunnel the same way you secure your other networks and there's nothing else to worry about. It's hard to fathom why so many vendors over complicate this simple concept," added Russo. "These BorderGuards lift a heavy weight off the shoulders of an IT organization."
An aspect of the BorderGuard solution that mitigates wireless network risks is Tunnel-Lock. This feature leverages a specific aspect of the company's own Data Privacy Facility (DPF) that secures a VPN tunnel along its entire path, including the wireless access point and the end device. There is less equipment to buy and less software to configure and support -- driving significant operational saving to the bottom line.
BorderGuard architecture allows for tremendous scalability and flexibility for enterprises everywhere. Versions are expected this summer that will set new industry benchmarks for scalability and flexibility.
