Blue Ridge Networks Achieves NIAP Common Criteria Certification
Only VPN Vendor to Earn Both FIPS 140-2 and Common Criteria Certifications
CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 2004--In keeping with its goal of providing communications products and services that meet the needs of the most demanding Federal Government applications, Blue Ridge Networks announced today that it earned Common Criteria Certification at the EAL2 assurance level.
The evaluation was conducted under the stringent provisions of the NIAP Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme drafted by the National Information Assurance Partnership and the National Security Agency.
Tom Gilbert, Blue Ridge Networks Chief Technology Officer, said, "The value that we bring our clients is that we seek to meet and exceed the toughest security standards they set. For years, our customers in intelligence, defense, and civilian agencies prove in practice what we test for in the lab - that you can never compromise where security is concerned."
To that end, Blue Ridge Networks is the only VPN vendor that has attained both FIPS 140-2 and Common Criteria certifications and the company remains the only VPN vendor who has obtained certification for a VPN Management Platform.
The company's security target can be obtained by visiting the NIAP web site (niap.nist.gov) or by contacting Blue Ridge Networks at 703-631-0700.
About Common Criteria
The Common Criteria is an international standard agreed to by six industrialized nations - the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Germany, and Australia - for verification of security protocols.
