Position Description:
Blue Ridge Networks is seeking a Level 2 Support – Jr. Network Administrator that has a demonstrated ability to work in a help desk environment in our Chantilly office. Qualified individuals will work in a team environment tasked with supporting our proprietary VPN equipment and managed service customers.
Candidates should be a good team player; however, they should also be able to work independently, handle multiple tasks and provide periodic status updates. They should have a strong ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues along with desktop applications.
Qualifications and Experience
Prefer a candidate who has worked in a help desk environment 3-5 years and or 2 + Years of Network Administration, 1 + year of Network Engineer history
Candidates should have extensive experience in the following areas:
- Installation & Configuration of various Microsoft software suites.
- Knowledge in troubleshooting Dell Desktops & Laptops
- A passion to deliver excellent customer service.
- Monitor and complete daily file processing, perform system backups, examine log files, and escalate identified issues to appropriate groups.
- Plan, design and implement network changes and upgrades, including new customers, troubleshooting turn-up issues, coordinating with vendors for installation of VPN equipment and services
- May serve as technical liaison with vendors and customers
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to track daily tasks in help desk ticketing system
Additional consideration / preference will be given to candidates who have experience or familiarity with the following:
- Building & Maintaining Data Centers
- HP Procurve, Cisco ASA FW, Cisco Switches, Sidewinder FW, Astaro FW
- Physical and Logical Networking
